February 2011 REPORT

PLAN TO ATTEND THE
Wednesday March 2 2011 General Meeting
7:30 pm at Beecher Place

The Directors met Feb 5 to discuss key issues to put forth at the meeting.
Proposed AGENDA

1. Emergency Exit Study update. Representatives from the City of Surrey will attend. We are asking that they provide questionnaires soliciting our opinions regarding their proposed options.

2. Emergency Preparedness – Margot Thomson to give update of her committee’s work.

3. Beach garbage & recycling – Leanne Mason & Mickey Rogers will be asked to present a proposal to deal with this.

4. Traffic Calming Devises – Malcolm Stewart will present the proposed survey to be sent out to the residents of Bayview and those on McBride between Sullivan and Blackie Spit.

5. Mark Nelson will outline topics to be discussed at the March 9 meeting with Mayor Watts & Councillor Rasode.

One of the concerns is the difficult communication with BNSF and the need for the same rules to apply to the stop train protocol for passenger AND freight trains.
