2012 July Directors' Report

MINUTES OF DIRECTS MEETING – July 4, 2012

AGENDA ITEM:



1. BUSINESS ETIQUETTE

Brief discussion regarding e-mail etiquette and protection of email distribution list for our CBPOA members.



2. PAVING OF BLACKIE SPIT

The paving of Blackie Spit will be delayed until the fall. Will continue to be updated by the city.



3. CAMP ALEXANDRA AND BEECHER PLACE

Brief discussion to update new members on the history of Camp A and Beecher Place with regards to usage by CBPOA members.



4. RCMP INITIATIVES

(Erik Seiz)

Update on the Surrey RCMP’s summer patrol initiatives. They include the following:

a) Park Patrol – early evening/dusk foot patrols for all of Surrey

b) CN/RCMP Ride-Along – railway monitoring by both noted parties



Discussion continued as to the safety issues and where we are at now and where we want to be as a community (Crescent Beach)



5. MAPLE STREET PUMP HOUSE

Updated that the construction of the new pump house will begin soon. Also, pedestrian traffic will be allowed during construction.



6. WHISTLE CESSATION

(Malcolm Stewart)

Malcolm updated the directors that the report pertaining to the whistle cessation is sill on progress. We should expect to hear something in September 2012.



7. TRAFFIC CONTROL ON BAYBIEW

Speed bumps have been delayed until the end of the year (2012)



8. AGENDA ITEMS FOR QUARTERLY MEETING IN SEPTEMBER 2012.

a) Update on the underpass – Maria Dhaliwal will be invited to meeting. Her acceptance of invitation pending.

b) Update on Recycling and Garbage bins – approach the Sustainability Committee and the City of Surrey to provide an update
