AGENDA ITEM:
1. Blackie’s Spit Preservation Society
Speaker: David Grant
David provided the group with an update of the society’s ongoing business including it’s non-profit status. As well, he confirmed the interest of the CBPOA Directors to provide a $500 scholarship to an “environmentally active” member of the community which would be chosen by the Blackie’s Spit Preservation Society.
2. Emergency Preparedness Committee Request
Speaker: David Grant
David relayed the message that the above noted Committee would be in favour a “formal” form that would outline the submit ion requirements as well as provide an outline of the task and its objectives presented by an individual (or group). The Directors agreed this would be a good idea. David agreed he would approach one of the Emergency Preparedness members to see if they would be interested in developing a form template.
3. Review of Last Directors’ meeting
It was discussed as to the status of Camp A ’s membership with the CBPOA. It was felt that a “joint” or “reciprocal” membership between the two groups would be beneficial. Erik agreed that he would approach and discuss with Penny (Camp Alexandra )
4. Volunteer Recognition
As many people volunteer their time to support CBPOA and the community, volunteer recognition was discussed.
It was also discussed that there is always a need for more volunteers. Passing on the message and getting people involved is very important.
